EnOS Cloud Release Management Guide

EnOS Cloud adopts a multi-versioning strategy to support both public and private cloud services in addressing diverse operational needs. Comprising Major Release, Cumulative Update (CU), Minor Release, and Hotfix & Patch, this versioning structure enables prompt access to bug fixes, feature upgrades, and new functionalities.

This document details the EnOS Cloud versioning mechanism and provides documentation access guide to help you quickly locate product information and updates across different versions.

Definition

Major Releases introduce new functionalities and incorporate defect resolutions and feature enhancements that have reached General Availability maturity. They deliver significant milestone upgrade.

CUs deliver periodic updates for non-CBB components, typically including:
  • Client-driven non-critical defect fixes and feature enhancements;

  • EnOS Cloud-initiated cross-environment security patches (including CVE remediation), defect resolutions, and system optimizations.

Minor Releases deliver periodic updates for CBB components, incorporating backward-compatible new features. These features may still be under refinement from functional and non-functional perspectives but enable continuous iterations.

Hotfix and Patch are both high priority updates addressing urgent critical/severe defects reported by users or discovered by EnOS Cloud. Hotfixes require immediate deployment to specific user environments. Patches require unified fixes across multiple environments.

Version Type Correlation

EnOS Cloud supports one or more Major Releases. CUs and Minor Releases are rolled out regularly based on Major Releases, while Hotfixes and Patches are published on demand. Changes introduced in Hotfixes and Patches are merged into the next CU.

Note

The current Minor Releases are primarily based on version 2.4.4, with regular rolling updates.

Accessing Documentation

The EnOS Cloud Documentation Center provides version-specific documentation for each Major Release. You can use the version switcher in the top-right corner of the navigation bar to access documentation for a particular version.

You can then find the Release Notes card on the homepage. Clicking this card gives you access to product iteration logs for the Major Release and its CUs or Minor Releases.
