Registering Device Assets¶
Before connecting sub-devices to EnOS Edge, you need to register the device assets (models, products, and devices) on the IoT Hub for the following devices:
Edge device: a gateway device deployed on the edge that goes about as a “gate” between two networks.
Sub-device: a hardware device deployed on the edge that is attached to Edge device. It will be connected to the EnOS through the proxy of Edge device based on a specific communication protocol.
Before You Start¶
Contact your OU administrator for permission on the Asset Management service. For more information, see Policies, Roles, and Permissions.

To create the product, see Creating a product.
Note
For the gateway device, select Gateway as its “Asset Type” and select EnOS_Edge_Standard_Model as its model.
To register device instances on the IoT Hub of the EnOS Management Console based on the gateway product created before, see Create a device.

For the gateway device, select EnOS_Edge_Standard_Product as its “Product”.
